Filament

Filament Spool Remaining Calculator

Turn a scale reading into a useful estimate before starting a long print.

Inputs

How the calculation works

Net filament = loaded spool − empty spool. Length = net mass ÷ mass per meter for the chosen diameter and density.

How to use this result

The empty spool weight printed on a label is preferable to a generic spool estimate. Refill systems, cardboard moisture, and mixed spool designs can shift tare weight enough to matter.

Example

If a loaded spool weighs 780 g and the empty spool is 240 g, the calculator treats 540 g as filament before converting it to meters.
