Where it fits
PLA Filament is a sensible starting point for rigid prototypes, visual models, jigs away from heat.
Why makers choose it
Its practical appeal is easy handling, clean detail, and low warping.
Trade-offs to plan for
softens in heat and is not the first choice for sustained outdoor or impact-loaded parts.
Print, shrinkage, and moisture notes
Low shrinkage makes PLA forgiving, but long thin parts can still lift. Keep it dry and do not treat a pretty surface as proof of structural suitability.
Material names describe a family, not a guaranteed result. Formulation, color, reinforcement, annealing, orientation, and your printer can change behavior. Use the supplier technical data for critical tolerances, heat exposure, or safety requirements.
